Film and Media Bio
Over the course of the last thirty-five years, I have been leading my companies in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of a select range of specialized art materials for the entertainment, motion picture, and maker industries.
In the late 1970s, I began my career working in the polymer industry as a laboratory technician while earning a college degree in sculpture and film. Blending an unusual mix of expertise in polymer compounding with practical art skills, I launched a (SPFX) Special Effects materials company in 1991 to create unique, custom formulations inspired by both polymer science and the art world. Today, the products my companies produce have become industry standards for filmmakers, makeup artists, sculptors, and makers from around the globe. I’ve included a short list of some of the better-known film and television productions that have used our materials to help bring their cinematic visions to life.
